The 1st of March breathed freshness bred by the novelty that it brought upon with it. The morning glowed leisurely at the expense of new beginnings for those who stepped upon the grounds of the National Incubation Centre as well as the greeters of those steps. A rush of dynamic spirit frivolously frolicked among the risers of the early dawn who had set solid foot to make a better of this world with their pioneering visions.
The National Incubation Centre of Pakistan glowed proudly as they welcomed their Cohort 5 batch to an orientation session organized solely to induce a sense of familial intimacy amongst the enthusiastic entrepreneurs. The calendar marked it to be a new day for the path of innovation, in Pakistan, to be polished with a motto for the day; ‘Entrepreneurship cannot be taught, it can be learned.’
NIC is a startup that starts up other startups. The positive day consisted of a well-planned schedule to facilitate any possible inquisition from the upcoming entrepreneurs. By sharp 10:15 AM, the new batch was ushered to NIC’s hall for the inauguration of the ceremony. Jaws opened up in fractions of centimeters as eyes twinkled with admiration for NIC’s interior design of the workplace which was inspired by none other than Google and Facebook offices, an environment to ensure the growth of creativity.
Around 70 people settled down with stickers on their arm bands showcasing their name, startup’s name and a thing that they loved. The most noteworthy one was, ‘I love olive and mustard sandwiches.’ Debatable. A short briefing of the event schedule was shared; a tour of the stunning facility topped the list followed by, networking activities among the batch, a briefing on how the incubation center started off by the founders themselves, a short presentation explaining all details about the center i.e. their sponsors, team, vision, goals achieved, sight into the future etc. After that, a short tea break to barricade the cycle of information attainment for better retention.
The ceremony resumed with a presentation from the Jazz xlr8 initiative’s Chief Corporate; Ali Naseer, lead sponsor of the center. And continued with a talk on the Ignite agenda. A lunch break was incorporated as rumbling tummies were fulfilled graciously to get geared back up again.
Afterwards, another activity was planned to get the batch roaring in fits of laughter as their team mates stumbled around to achieve the goal of the commotion. An aura of positivity set the atmosphere as the NIC alumni iterated their inspirational stories on how they made it through despite the odds.
And came the day to a brief end as it paved way for humble new beginnings.
